The Monday Special – 15th August

It’s the start of another week, and it’s been a frustrating seven days if I’m honest. I’m still battling morning sickness (does that EVER go away?!) and things are frustrating on the “house-selling” front.

I told you that our current house is on the market, right? Well it is. We’ve had a couple of home opens now and it’s an immense task to get ready for them – it’s even harder when hearing feedback from people who don’t want to buy our gorgeous house – they don’t like it because the block can’t be subdivided easily, the sink in the kitchen is too small (it isn’t), they don’t like the oven or the colour of the carpet in the minor bedrooms. *insert massive sigh here* It’s really disheartening to hear people say that mostly minor things are stopping them putting in an offer to purchase.

Never mind, I’m sure things will work out eventually!

Time to get the week started on the right note – with my 50% off Monday Special. This week is a bulk pack – 30 of my favourite colours in a fabulous gingham pattern! The papers are all 12×12 inches and 300ppi.

DSD Bulk Gingham 30 Pack

This pack normally priced at $6.50*, is now $3.25* and only available in my Etsy store. This 50% offer will expire on the 22nd of August.

Don’t forget that I’m in Western Australia so if you live on the other side of the globe, don’t leave your purchase until the last minute as the special could disappear Sunday night in your corner of the world.

*All prices in Australian dollars.

Freebie Friday – 12th August

Happy Friday guys! I hope you’ve had a great week.

My week has been spent in front of the tele watching the Olympics (I am now an expert in gymnastics and equestrian dressage) and keeping an eye out for Mr Sparkles – the wild rabbit that lives in our garden. Sadly, I haven’t seen him for a few days and I’m slightly concerned he may have been turned into bird food (we regularly get hawks around here).

For today’s Freebie Friday I’m giving away a great khaki green tartan paper (the colour is called Salt Bush) and it’s from my Camp Ground paper pack which is this week’s Monday Special.

There’s no catch – no newsletter sign-up, I don’t want your email address, phone number, Olympic gold medal (for snacking, obviously) delivered to my inbox.  It’s free – you don’t have to do anything except click the link to download it.

The Monday Special – 8th August

So, how was your weekend? I spent mine glued to the television watching the Olympic Games! I’m not a huge sports fan (although I do love cricket) but there’s something about the Olympics that I thoroughly enjoy, especially the gymnastics, equestrian, diving and swimming. (I know nothing about any of them, but I like to pretend I’m an expect every 4 years….)

Apart from that, the house we’re building is slowly coming along, hopefully we’ll have windows and doors by the weekend which would be good as our current home is on the market, so the quicker the new place is built the better!

I struggled to choose what paper pack to give the “Monday Special” treatment too and I’ve decided to pick my Camp Ground paper pack. For one reason – I love the owl paper!! It took me weeks to create the template and it’s super cute so I always get a real kick out of using it.

DSD Camp Ground

This pack is a 12 page pack full of earthy greens and browns – normally priced at $5.00*, now $2.50* and only available in my Etsy store. This 50% offer will expire on the 15th of August.

Freebie Friday – 5th August

It’s a cool Friday here in Perth – about 12 degrees Celsius outside but I’m sitting in my cosy living room munching on raisin toast and drinking litres of milk (it’s my latest pregnancy craving). Not much has happened this week, apart from our house hitting the real estate market, our dishwasher dying (sob) and Mr Sparkles – the wild rabbit who lives in our garden – deciding to build a new burrow beneath our rosemary shrubs. I hope your week has been a good one!

This weeks Freebie Friday is a sheet of 12×12″ leafy paper from my fun and bright paper pack called Funky Bunches which is also this week’s 50% off Monday Special.

There’s no catch – no newsletter sign-up, I don’t want your email address, phone number, naked Orlando Bloom pictures delivered to my inbox. (That last one might be a lie.) It’s free – you don’t have to do anything except click the link to download it.

The Monday Special – 1st August

Happy Monday!!

Or perhaps it’s only “Happy Monday” if you work from home like I do. (I will admit that in my previous life as an employee of the state government, Monday’s certainly weren’t “happy”.)

Over here the weather is desperately cold (for Perth, which means it’s about 3 degrees celcius outside), Mr Sparkles – my wild rabbit – is still happily living in my garden, and my morning sickness is still kicking my backside. (I’m almost 17 weeks now and convinced the baby hates me.)

This week’s Monday Special is an entirely BRAND NEW paper pack! It is one of three 20-page paper packs that is currently in store and more will be added over the next week or so.

DSD Funky Bunches

This pack is called Funky Bunches and even contains NEW colours! That’s right, I’ve added eight new colours to my 2016-2020 paper palette. As usual, all 50 of my colours co-ordinate so no matter what paper packs you buy from my 2016-2020 collection, they will co-ordinate and open up so many possibilities for creating your own page palettes.

Packed full of bright florals, this weeks Monday Special is normally priced at $7.00*, but is now $3.50* and only available in my Etsy store. This 50% offer will expire on the 8th of August.

Back To Nature

My morning sickness is (marginally) better so I’ve decided to have a go at this months Pixel Scrapper blog train.

The theme is Back To Nature and I’ve taken inspiration from a trip I did almost two years ago. From our home in Perth, Western Australia we drove three days all the way up to tropical Broome. If you’ve never been to or seen much of WA, it’s a state of colour and contrast. In the south-west there are rolling green fields (with many incredibly wineries dotted about), majestic forests and a tranquillity that can’t be described, only experienced. The enormous WA coast has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world with waters ranging from deep blue to the palest turquoise. Inland and northern WA has spectacular red/orange dirt, amazing wildflowers and a heck of a lot of cows (yeah, cows. Roos too, but mainly cows.)

Stunning turquoise water on the northern coast.
There were fields of Sturt Desert Peas on the inland road.
There were fields of Sturt Desert Peas along the inland road.

So while “Back to Nature” may mean camping in forests and a lot of brown and green shades, for me the phrase reminds me of this trip where I saw colours and sights I’d never seen before. I’ve decided to use the blues, yellow and orange from the palette to create this months blog train paper pack.

The Monday Special – 25th July

It’s been a hectic week – well, hectic for someone who also has to schedule in time during the day for “morning” sickness and a nanna-nap. We are preparing our current home for sale so that means LOTS of cleaning, gardening, polishing, sorting and tidying. A real estate agent is coming over tonight to discuss prices and strategy which will no doubt be a dull conversation, but an unfortunately necessary one.

With any luck, our current home will be sold and settled by mid-December and we can move into our brand new house! The new place is coming along slowly, we now have a roof, storm-water system/gutters, first-fix electrical and plumbing and the grey float has started (that the first layer of stuff that goes onto the internal walls – white plaster will follow soon.)

I’m really pleased with how things are progressing although I’m a tad disappointed with the colour of the gutters – I had originally wanted a darker grey but was talked out of it by our building colour consultant however now I’m wishing I’d stuck to my guns, I now refer to this blah colour as Apologetic Grey. Oh well, if that’s the only thing I’m slightly disappointed about by the time the entire house is finished then that’s okay by me. (Honestly, have you ever tried to pick colours and finishes of everything that goes into a house from tiny swatches in a very brightly lit and shiny show-room? Overwhelming is one way to describe the experience….)

Now, the Monday Special! This week I am offering one of my A4 packs (yep, I do 12×12″ and 8.5×11″ paper packs!) at 50% off. Here is my Polka Dot Parcel paper pack in pastel colours. It’s one of my best sellers over at my CraftsUPrint store.

EtsyPreviewA4_PolkaDotParcel_Pastel

This pack is a 10 page pack full of super sweet pastel polka dots – 5 colours, 2 patterns – normally priced at $5.00*, now $2.50* and only available in my Etsy store. This 50% offer will expire on the 1st of August.

Freebie Friday – 23rd July

It’s a lovely sunshine-y Friday here – the air is chilly and refreshing, but the sun has a tinge of warmth to it. I’ve spent quite a bit of time this week with my nose pressed to the window overlooking my back garden, keeping an eye on our new resident (a wild rabbit I’ve called Mr Sparkles).

This weeks Freebie Friday is a sheet of 12×12″ vintage grunge paper with a gorgeous brocade texture which has been taken from my paper pack called Aqua Vitae (you can find that pack and more vintage grunge packs in my Etsy store.)

The Monday Special – 18th July

It’s the start of a new week and I have some exciting news to share!

Disclaimer: Only exciting if you like cute things.

Firstly, a wild rabbit has moved into my neglected suburban garden. (And yes, I’m positive it’s a wild rabbit.) He is very cute (no, I’m not certain it’s a he) so I’ve named him Mr Sparkles. Mr Sparkles like eating dandelion leaves and sitting beneath the lemon tree which has never ever given me a lemon. I’m hoping he’ll poop there too to save me from attempting to fertilise the tree myself with a bag of manure.

Secondly, I got to meet my new nephew. He is exceptionally lovely and placid and I got to cuddle him yesterday. Himself also got a cuddle and witnessing him with a tiny newborn has reminded me how awkward and uncomfortable he looks holding a newborn – I’ve told him I’ll buy him a doll to practice with before our own baby arrives in January.

It probably won’t surprise you to know that I don’t just like scrapbooking and creating digital crafts, I like most crafts so I also got to hand this over.

Cross Stitch

Onto the Monday Special now – this week I am offering 50% off my most popular pack ever, my Grunge Solids in Brown Shades.

EtsyPreviewGrunge

This pack is a 10 page pack full of vintage grunge solid brown papers normally priced at $6.50*, now $3.25* and only available in my Etsy store. This 50% offer will expire on the 25th of July.

Freebie Friday – 15th July

Friday – in my household Friday is the day of homemade pizza eaten from the comfort of the sofa with a DVD on and a tall glass of ginger ale to ease my “morning” sickness (which is all confused as it hits around 6pm.) The weekend is mere hours away and with any luck that means some time to create and perhaps visit my brand new nephew who was born a week ago.

This weeks Freebie Friday is a sheet of 12×12″ paper to co-ordinate with my Monday Special (which is 50% off for only 3 more days.) The shade is called French Beauty but the pattern is brand new and not yet available in any of my other packs – it’s a cute spring/summer floral pattern called Daisy Doodle.

There’s no catch – no newsletter sign-up, I don’t want your email address, phone number, your last Tim Tam or anything like that. It’s free – you don’t have to do anything except click the link to download it. (But be quick about it as it’s only available for 48 hours!)
