If you follow me on Facebook, you’ll see that I’ve started sharing a few little tips on how to use colour.
I’ve decided to expand on this a bit as sometimes there’s just not enough room in these little pinnable images to really go into too much detail.
Mint Crush is one of the 42 colours in my brand new 2016 collection. Mint green is a colour that just “goes” with pink and in scrapbooking circles it’s not uncommon to see it ONLY with pink. For good reason – a soft pink with accents of mint green create a really cute girly colour scheme. There’s nothing wrong with that.
But mint green can be so much more!
Psychologically speaking, mint is a colour which calls for calmness. It is quiet and soothing and soft. And in the right colour scheme it can lose all its “kiddy” connotations and become something very adult, very calm and very serene.
Take this colour scheme.
Under no circumstances could it be considered “kiddy”. Mint can be paired with a really soft neutral – either an off-white, cream or very light beige and then combined with a darker neutral – with mint being such a cool colour I find brown adds warmth to the colour palette.
As an alternative, if you prefer a more “bling-bling” colour palette then try mint with pale grey and a splash of gold.
And don’t forget – just because scrapbooking paper comes in a pack doesn’t mean you can only use it with the other papers in that one pack. Be bold and experiment!
